Announcing General Availability: Tanium Autonomous Endpoint Management (AEM)
With Tanium AEM, we’re launching the next evolution of converged endpoint management and empowering IT and security teams to confidently and efficiently scale operations and improve the security posture of the environment.
In November at Converge 2024, we unveiled Tanium Autonomous Endpoint Management (AEM), a groundbreaking evolution in our converged endpoint management platform, and today, we’re excited to announce the general availability of Tanium AEM to all Tanium Cloud customers.
Tanium AEM leverages AI and machine learning capabilities to provide operators with high-confidence recommendations and automation that enable them to autonomously provision changes safely and reliably into environments, ensuring operational health, reducing the business risks of IT actions resulting in unanticipated negative outcomes, and enhancing the security of IT environments.
We want you to be confident that you can ask questions and act with absolute certainty.1
According to the 2025 Gartner© Market Guide for Endpoint Management Tools, Autonomous Endpoint Management (AEM) represents “a next-generation approach that infuses intelligence-driven automation within endpoint management tools.”
To help customers better understand the emerging AEM market, Gartner also published Innovation Insight: Autonomous Endpoint Management research, which details how “AEM leverages configuration, compliance, risk, performance, and experience data to intelligently perform common endpoint management and DEX tasks.”
The report suggests that vendors who offer AEM solutions such as Tanium, provide enhanced value by combining a “ring-based application and OS patching approach with artificial intelligence, DEX measurements, and controllable intelligent automation that enables any organization to tune the level of automation according to its risk appetite.”
Gartner recommends that organizations “prepare for the future by selecting endpoint management tools containing, or with a near-term roadmap that includes, AEM capabilities.”
Gartner also advises clients to consider AEM to “reduce labor, increase velocity and protect DEX. AEM enables each organization to adjust the level of automation according to its individual risk tolerance. AEM represents the most significant advancement in endpoint management in over a decade.”
AEM represents the most significant advancement in endpoint management in over a decade.
Tanium is taking the lead on delivering on the promise of AEM using our existing real-time and converged endpoint platform as the foundation to deliver all-new AI-enhanced and autonomous experiences such as Tanium Ask, Tanium Guide, Adaptive Actions, Automate, Action Oversight, Auto Deployments, and Remediation Visibility – just to name a few.
I highly recommend using Tanium Automate, especially for busy security teams that are trying to save time on manual, repetitive tasks like patching. Automate drastically simplifies security orchestration and gives you back countless hours to focus on deeper work.
As we celebrate the release of Tanium AEM, we’re excited to hear feedback, so that we can improve our offering and better plan the roadmap for the future. If you would like to learn more, please reach out and schedule a demo.
More information on Tanium AEM can be found in the solution brief, Day One and Day Two Converge session recaps, and on our Tanium Resource Center.
We also invite you to join our webinar: Scaling IT and Security Execution with Autonomous Endpoint Management (AEM) (live on February 26 and on demand afterward).
