A Day of Giving in the United Kingdom

This October, the Tanium team kicked off a month long campaign of giving, committing to volunteer over 2,000 hours globally. Day of Giving is an opportunity for Tanium employees to lead multiple activities and work together to support and give back to the communities that we all work in. The activities are part of one of Tanium’s most important initiatives, our #TaniumGivesBack program.

Today, we share with you how our EMEA HQ team in the United Kingdom spent time volunteering for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).

Ronald McDonald House Charities is a non-profit organization that strives to keep families together and near the medical care they need through a network of local Chapters. Our EMEA team spent the day with the organization packing 160 toiletry bags that will be handed to families whose children have been admitted to a hospital, and whose families are staying at a nearby Ronald McDonald House Chapter. “Very proud to be supporting good causes. Close friends of mine were supported by Ronald McDonald House when their daughter was severely injured and needed to stay in hospital, so it was so cool and meant a lot to be giving back to them today,” Matthew Coulter, Head of EMEA Inside Sales shared.

The team worked with the Oxford Chapter, who distribute the toiletry bags to other Chapters in the area. Caroline Sinclair, one of the Fundraisers for the House, spoke to the team about the charity and how they can get more involved. She explained that the average stay in most houses is 9 days, but they see stays that last months, and in rare cases even years.
