We support their unwavering commitment to giving back and helping those in need every September with Tanium’s annual Month of Giving. This blog post highlights some of these incredible efforts of our employees who are making a difference and inspiring others to do the same.
Join us as we celebrate their dedication and the positive changes they were able to bring to communities around the world during Tanium’s seventh annual Month of Giving.
This year’s Month of Giving featured four weeks of in-person and virtual events for Tanium team members to engage in. Throughout the month, hundreds of team members participated in the Month of Giving. These dedicated individuals supported over 60 organizations, including individual volunteer efforts.
In Week 1, over 100 team members participated in the company’s Walk My Workday event, logging over 500 miles cumulatively. For each mile, Tanium donated to the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) to support CS access and education for teachers.
In Week 2, Tanium’s charitable work went virtual with the help of Generus. Tanium employees worked remotely to assemble over 150 tools for youth mental wellness to help them build emotional fluency, resilience, and coping strategies.
In Week 3, our offices held various creative, in-person efforts to bring joy to those in need through programs and charities, including:
- Letters Against Isolation – Bringing warm wishes to the isolated elderly community
- SAFEChild Comfort Cape – Creating no-sew blankets for children experiencing trauma
- Packing Wash Kits for local hospital patients
- Constructing suncatchers for a local elderly community
- Creating Christmas cards for children who will spend the holidays in the hospital
In Week 4, Tanium volunteers assisted local charities worldwide, including Oakland, California; Seattle, Washington; Tokyo, Japan; Dallas, Texas; and more locations through their participation in:
- Assisting The Cowshed and the Fannie C. Harris Youth Center in providing essentials like clothing and hygiene products to individuals experiencing a personal crisis
- Sorting and packing food for local food banks, including the Alameda County Food Bank and the Capital Area Food Bank
- Participating in community cleanup efforts and other upkeep activities for Weed Warriors and the Tokyo Fureai Road Program
- Joining a team 5k to support the Wounded Warrior Carry Forward Project
All month long, employees focused their fundraising efforts on ramping up their contributions to our month-long donation drives across all Tanium offices and virtually for these and other charities:
- Sole4Souls – Shoes and clothing
- Diaper Bank of North Carolina – Diapers, formula, and adult hygiene products
- Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust – Gently used and new books
- Dom Pomocy Spotecznej im. L. i A. Helclów – Clothing, cosmetics, coffee, and tea
- Japanese Red Cross – Blood donations
