Tanium Named to Forbes’ List of “Top 100 Private Cloud Companies” for the Sixth Consecutive Year
The company is again recognized among world-class organizations leading the cloud technology revolution
KIRKLAND, WA., August 11, 2021 – Tanium, the provider of endpoint management and security built for the world’s most demanding IT environments, has been named to Forbes’ Cloud 100, the definitive resource on top private cloud companies globally published by Forbes, in partnership with Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures.
This is the sixth consecutive year that Tanium has been named to the list. From its inception, the company recognized the power of the cloud. As the proliferation of endpoints accelerated through the advent of hybrid and distributed workforce models, the need to centrally secure and manage them through cloud-based solutions became even more critical for organizations of all sizes, in all industries. In July 2020, the company took its cloud investment to the next level with Tanium as a Service, the only zero-infrastructure endpoint management and security solution. Tanium also expanded its reach through meaningful, valued-added partnerships with cloud leaders including Salesforce and Google Cloud
“For years we’ve watched the expanding distribution of the edge and the rapid adoption of the cloud. This last year, more than ever, really accelerated that trend, as businesses moved to adapt to remote work environments,” said Orion Hindawi, co-founder and CEO of Tanium. “We take great pride in again being named to this exclusive group supporting cloud transformation.”
The Cloud 100 judging panel, comprised primarily of public cloud company CEOs, reviewed the data to select, score and rank the top 100 private cloud companies from all over the world. The evaluation process involved ranking companies across four factors: market leadership (35%), estimated valuation (30%), operating metrics (20%), and people and culture (15%).
“The companies of the Cloud 100 list represent the best and brightest emerging companies in the cloud sector,” said Alex Konrad, senior editor at Forbes. “Every year, it gets more difficult to make this list — meaning even more elite company for those who do. Congratulations to each of the 2021 Cloud 100 honorees and to our 20 Rising Stars up-and-comers poised to join their ranks.”
“The private cloud ecosystem continues to see historic rates of digital transformation,” said Byron Deeter, partner at Bessemer Venture Partners. “Private cloud valuations are getting bigger as the market’s appetite for cloud continues to grow. These founders represent the absolute best in cloud computing today, and they appear likely to follow in the footsteps of our esteemed Cloud 100 alumni. Congratulations to these cloud leaders!”
“How we work has undergone a paradigm shift and businesses of all shapes and sizes are reimagining the tools that are needed to ensure working from anywhere is a sustainable, long-lasting solution,” said Alex Kayyal, Managing Partner, Salesforce Ventures. “The last 18 months have made digital transformation an urgent imperative and the cloud has never been more pivotal in powering our new digital economy. The companies on this list represent the leaders and businesses shaping the future of the cloud ecosystem and we are excited to partner with Bessemer Venture Partners and Forbes to honor these trailblazers of the industry.”
The Forbes 2021 Cloud 100 and 20 Rising Stars are published in Forbes’ August/September issue and on Forbes.com. Those named to the lists are honored at The Cloud 100 Celebration, an exclusive event hosted by Forbes, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Salesforce Ventures.
