Tanium SLED VP Named Winner of the 2023 StateScoop 50 Awards
Jennifer Axt recognized for role in enabling whole-of-state cybersecurity
KIRKLAND, Wash., May 8, 2023 – Tanium, the industry’s only provider of converged endpoint management (XEM), announced today that Jennifer Axt, vice president of the company’s U.S. state, local, and education (SLED) practice, has been named a winner of the 2023 StateScoop 50 Awards. Axt is recognized for Tanium’s leadership in reducing cyber risk and improving operational resilience for the most critical networks across the nation in addition to her role in enabling the adoption of whole-of-state cybersecurity (WOS) architecture.
As pioneer of the XEM product category and a recipient of the 2022 American Security Today’s Homeland Security (ASTORS) awards, Tanium protects nearly three quarters of the Fortune 100, five branches of the U.S. Department of Defense, and SLED customers including Salisbury University, San Joaquin County, the state of Arizona, the state of California, and more.
The Tanium XEM platform provides a modern, scalable, and proven solution that reduces endpoint risk, consolidates tools, and lets IT and security teams enable the consistent delivery of constituent services. By validating state and local agencies’ cyber posture with unparalleled visibility of all hardware and software assets, risk dashboards, role-based access controls, and a source of truth for asset data across multiple department levels, the Tanium XEM platform supports a WOS security strategy.
“Jennifer is an incredible partner for all of our SLED customers and truly makes their mission her own,” said Tyker Fagg, chief revenue officer, Tanium. “She is unwavering in her goal to improve security at all levels of government and is incredibly dedicated to all our customers and partners. This recognition could not be more well deserved!”
The StateScoop 50 Awards celebrate the people and projects across the state IT community making a positive impact in government IT circles and in public service. Axt was recognized for her industry leadership as a private-sector pioneer driving change in government IT with unique solutions.
“I’m honored and humbled to be a recipient for this year’s award and to be among so many respected government and industry IT leaders I admire,” said Jennifer Axt, vice president of the U.S. SLED practice at Tanium. “I’m fortunate to work with an outstanding team at Tanium that is unwavering in its mission to support state, local, and education public-sector customers to secure and protect their networks and data so they can carry out the important services they provide to their citizens.”
A 26-year industry veteran, Axt played a pivotal role in Tanium being among the first security- industry solution providers to win a contract enabling a whole-of-state cybersecurity architecture. She proved instrumental in securing buy-in from stakeholders, including at the governor’s level, while working with Arizona to implement a whole-of-state cybersecurity approach.
“For our tenth annual StateScoop 50 Awards, we’re so excited to honor this incredible group of leaders,” Jake Williams, StateScoop’s vice president of content and community, said in a statement. “The 2023 awards were among our most competitive ever, and this year’s group of winners are truly the top across our community.”
